Orion NPM & Syslog... Performance Problems

One of the reasons we purchased Orion was because it had Syslog capabilities which we have used with all of our previous NMS systems. Unfortunately what I have found is that Orion NPM seems to really struggle to the point of not being able to handle large quantities of Syslogs.

I am curious if other people have had this same experience? Is it expected that Orion NPM isn't capable of handling large quantities of Syslogs?

I have found this as well, and am frustrated that we don't have a solution (as is my management) that works.

I have a compellant SAN that is not even breaking a sweat (3 addit'l polling engines, NTA, 2 addt'l web servers, etc... about 20k pollers)

I am trying to schedule a meeting with my rep and a dev resource (but I keep getting pulled in other directions).

I know that SolarWinds has the Kiwi Syslog product available at a very reasonable price; however, I am frustrated that I have a product that claims to do Syslog but chokes with just a fraction of the volume of Syslogs that our previous NMS was able to manage.

What are you currently using for your Syslog solution?
