Vlan routed vs unrouted

Hi...

I want to know the difference between monitoring routed and unrouted vlans, and which one is more beneficial to monitor (in Network Monitor)?

One more question: I wish to start collecting traffic stats for 30 vlans that we currently have in order to have some baseline knowledge of avrage activity per vlan.

- Is 30 vlan monitoring ok for 1 GB ram dual processor (PIV) server? Just an estimate if possible.
- What are the main counters required, so as to not overload the server with less important counters.
