Can i install SRM on the same server and use same database with SAM?

Yes you can, and in fact I would advise it, as it this is the only way to get a full integration between the products.
We installed it on a separate server, as we didn't require (a £££ constraint really) it to be included in our SolarWinds HA setup and subsequently learnt that it operates piratically as a standalone bit of software from either our main Orion server or our VIM server.
