We have two WAN providers in an Active/Passive model. Two router CPE devices at every site speaking IBGP together.
Our Backup Provider isn't the most stable provider on the planet, and Frequently has 5-10 minute outages in the middle of the night.
Management has agreed that we don't need to alert on backup circuits from 11PM CST to 5AM CST, if they are the only circuit down(primary is functional).
Here's the catch, if the primary circuit goes down during that time, AND the backup circuit is having one of it's hiccups, I need an Alert that both are down.
My first thought was to Group the two Routers and alert on the group, however, Group alerts are severely lacking. There is no ability to access the Node specific Data for a node in the group, nor are there custom fields on a group. We have a custom field on every Node that tags what building they are in, so we can send alerts to the teams responsible for that building. Using the template Alert if Group is down, I get an alert for EVERY group that is down, not specific ones.
Any ideas on how I can do this?
