Running NPM 9.0 and 9.5 in Parallel

We have an Orion environment with three Win2003 servers (Two pollers and a DB Server) running NPM v9. It was suggested that I can run an evaluatation copy of NPM 9.5 in parallel as a separate instance on one of our pollers to view the web new interface. Does anyone has any guidance on this? Can I point it to the production copy of the database w/o fear of corruption of should I create a copy and use that?

Hi,

Im sure colleagues would agree but attempting to run two different NPM installation against the same production database would cause issues. I would suggest as you say taking a copy of the production and running them as two separate solutions until you are happy with 9.5.

I would also suspect that you would have problems because nodes are assigned to pollers and your would have two pollers potentially competing for the same nodes.
