Is there a way to do Log File Monitoring without using LEM?

Hello Thwackers,

I'm new to the Orion platform (i.e. I don't know the full capabilities of the various products) and I've been asked if there is a way to replace some existing log file monitors running on SCOM, with monitors on our Orion platform. I think this could be fairly easily done using LEM, but currently, the products we have installed are: SAM, NPM, NCM, NTA, IPIM, UDT, IVIM, DPA, QoE, and OFSMM. Does anyone have any suggestions?

SAM does a pretty good job of querying Windows event logs. See documentation for this component type below

You can look for keywords, severities, volume, event IDs, etc and also optionally store the details of the events.

You can also follow the wizard from the 'Real-time Event Log Viewer' seen in the node / application / component details views
