Buffer issues

After long periods of time we lose the ability to RDP/view anything with our Solar Winds server, if you get logged in and stay logged in after a restart (RDP or www) then you able to still make things function on the server. I have noticed that if I restart the following two services:

SolarWinds Orion Job Engine and SolarWinds Orion Job Scheduler

Everything goes back to normal for a few hours, before I have to restart the services again. Why this is effecting RDP is a little puzzling also. The specs of Solar Winds and server are as follows:

Orion 8.5.1 SP3 / APM RC

Hardware 1.86 Xeon / 4 gigs DDR2 / 15 K Serial SCSI

Are you using SNMP Process Monitors? There is a memory leak in the SNMP Process Monitor. When you restart the Job Engine service it frees up the memory.

This memory leak is scheduled to be fixed in a Service Pack.

when is this service pack going to be released? Because this sounds like the exact issue I am seeing.

We don't have a specific date for the service pack. It won't be long, but we want to include any issues that show up once everyone installs the GA version.

This was the issue, I removed all snmp process monitoring and didn't have any issues over the weekend. WMI turns out to give you more info anyway, just means a little more configuration is required on the srevers which isn't a big deal to me. Many thanks for posting josh.clark
