Viewing history data older than 30 days

I'm trying to figure out how the data retention works and how to see older history.

I found this link about data retention settings: DPA repository: Data retention policy - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

• CLEAN_DAYS_OF_DETAIL (default value is 30 days) I changed this to 90 days
• TREND_HOURLY_DAYS (default value is 90 days)and changed this to 365 days

In DPA, I still only have 30 days of history being displayed.  How can I extend my view to see more than 30 days?

I would like to produce charts every quarter for management reporting.

Also for the chart below, I would also like to see a shorter time frame, August 14 to current date, to remove those high bars (some exceptional activity) so that I can see better the details since then.  DPA only lets me choose a single day or a custom range not exceeding 24 hours. Why is that?  Is there a way around it?

Did you change the CLEAN_DAYS_OF_DETAIL recently? If so you will see 31 days on this chart tomorrow, 32 the next day and so on until you get to 90 days. Keep in mind that this will cause 3 times as much data to be stored for this instance within the repository.

To remove those SQLs from the trend charts, you can click on the SQL and tell DPA to not show it.

Another way of getting to the historical data is by using the reports feature. When you click into Reports you can choose the Top SQL report and chart however much historical data you have in your repository. Within the Report Options screen you can customize the number of SQLs to show, the date range and more.
