Custom View for only Select Nodes

Hi everyone,

I would like to make a custom view that only shows specific nodes along with their respective custom pollers. I opened a support ticket and they recommended I post this on Thwack since it is not a supported configuration/view.

Has anyone else done this? If so, is there a smooth/clean way to go about this, or would it be a lot of hacks and chops to put it together?

I was wondering the same thing! I have over 300 store locations, a distribution center and corporate office and would love to be able to split the three or at least put them in two groups. The top 10 is skewed with the stores information.

If I could change views per user and assign the equipment that way all would be wonderful!

Orion has a few ways to slice this. The first thing you should do is use the Custom Property Editor to create a property you can use to differentiate the various groups of nodes. Maybe "LocationType" with values like "Store", "Distribution Center", and "Corporate Office". Then you can filter your Top 10 resource like this:

LocationType <> 'Store'

You might want to add another Top 10 resource and leave it unfiltered or filter it to "LocationType = 'Store'" so you can see any problems the stores might be having.

If you just want different users to manage this stuff, one way to handle that would be to use the Account Limitation Builder to create a limitation type for LocationType. Then you can edit an account to limit it to only Stores. Then that account can browse the website as normal, but only Stores will be considered, including for Top 10 lists.

When selecting limitation for the new page, is there a way to filter on the "comments"? I added to the custom properties...unless you can tell me how to update the Location field without touching every device.

Just customize the new view and add the appropriate resources to it.
