mswinsck.ocx affects syslog server

I had to up grade the mswinsck.ocx file in accordance with my security officer. Since then, syslog doesn't correctly display the devices. It leaves off the very last digit of the device's IP address... Why?

Net Nerd - We are in the process of testing with the security update for Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 6 Runtime Extended Files: December 9, 2008, which includes mswinsck.ocx. Is this the upgrade you are referring to?

We have not gotten to the Syslog Server yet, but we will look for the issue.

The properties of the file says it's March 2009.

And the file version is 6.01.9816

Is there anything else about the file you need to know?

Can you get me some info / kb on the upgrade? Where did you get the file?
