I am seeing a flaw in the system that I need to get addressed. It involves when an interface drops off on a router and not getting an alert because the polling window didn't catch it. Yesterday a T1 dropped off for 89 seconds, right between the 3 minute polling window, so we never saw it, it wasn't until I went through the router logs that I found it. The T1 itself has been clean, no errors except for the 89 second drop. Is there a way to have the router send a trap for an interface drop like this so we can get an alert, without the router flooding the system with needless junk? I had syslog setup at one point to catch these, but there was so much junk sent I couldnt use it. Another thing that would be helpful is if Orion could send an alert when a T1 starts to accumulate errors, and when a threshold is reached, send the alert.
