Help Upgrading Aironet IOS via TFTP
videojock
I am not to familiar using TFTP to upgrade the IOS on the Aironet access points as I have always done it via the GUI. I have Solarwinds running with my IOS in the root dir and the AP connected via console cable. Everytime I attempt to upgrade via the CLI I am getting a time out error message while nothing shows up in the log. Below is the command I am issuing along with the error message I get. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
ap#archive download-sw /overwrite t10.10.10.8/.../c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA.tar

TFTP only works over an ethernet network.
If you are trying to upgrade the IOS via the console cable (9600 baud) you need to use a terminal program which includes file transfer capabilities, such as kermit, or X-modem.

I've never worked with an Aironet device, but one thing that could be wrong is the tftp part of your statement.
Yours (you don't need the full path to the tar file)
ap#archive download-sw /overwrite t10.10.10.8/.../c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA.tar
Try
ap#archive download-sw /overwrite t10.10.10.8/c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA.tar

Check the TFTP server, assuming you are running the SolarWinds application
File->Configure-Security
ensure that it is set to transmit data.
Also transfers are relative to the TFTP-root so yor command should be
archive download-sw /overwrite t10.10.10.8/c1200-k9w7-tar.128-8.JA.tar
You should see the connection arrempt in the TFTP Server log.
P.S. the lastest software is 12.3.8-JA2
