Adding NCM

Im looking to install NCM today on a Win2k8 Server. I have about 630GB, 3GB dual processor and plenty of RAM. I dont plan on integrating this with NPM. I awnt to keep it seperate for certain reasons right now. Should i have the Database be on the same server as NCM or put it on a seperate SQL server. I had to do this with NPM in the past because of issues we had. What is recommended.

Where you hold the database is really up to you. If you are going to be using NCM for many devices, I would suggest putting it on a separate SQL server with it's own database. Remember, key to databases is disk I/O meaning make sure the RAID is built correctly and you have enough spindles in the array.

Not integrating it with NPM is fine, it can run stand alone.

Sounds like the machine will have plenty of resources, but I don't know what other applications you have running on the box.

I currently have about 350 devices being monitored in NPM and t0hat will be about the same amount I enter in NCM. I looked through the Admin guide and couldn't find any info suggestiong what the is the suggested amount to place the SQL on a seperate box.
