Microwave monitoring

We use Orion to monitor traffic on our network.  We have a number of microwave links that we maintain.  Currently we have alarms set to tell us when the threshold has been met.  The problem I am having is this does send an alert, but it will not send out a notification email. Our high traffic peaks in the evening when no one is monitoring our equipment.  I have played with some of the alert settings but the only one that will work will also send an email about any little change that goes on in our network.  Has anyone else found a workaround to make this work?

In your alert, you need to configure a trigger action to send en email.  If your current alert triggers to often, perhaps configure a new alert to trigger if the behavior occurs X amounts of times in an hour or something like what you want.  Then configure THIS alert with the notification email.  make sense?
