I was wondering if there is location where you can click to find the health of the solarwinds app.  From the 30K view the server seems ok, but moving between screens is very slow, 5-10 second lag.  Just want to know where and how I start troubleshooting.  Thanks.

There are a few things you can look at, given that you haven't included any information about what modules you have or what server configuration.

1. Go to settings/polling engines. For each polling engine, make sure the max polling rate is not higher than 85%, at which point it will warn you that it is getting overloaded.

2. Go to the "logadjuster" in <installdir>\solarwinds\orion and run it. Enable hubble in verbose mode. That will put a red strip on the top of your Orion interface and will give you a general idea of what the long lead load items are.

3. Run the Solarwinds Diagnostics (again, in <installdir>\solarwinds\orion) and choose "Active Diagnostics". Each section will let you know if there are issues.

4. You need to make sure that your SQL server is properly outfitted with enough CPU and RAM, and that the Solarwinds database has a maintenance plan that's at least reorganizing the index and rebuilding statistics.

5. Avoid views that contain (all in one screen) all groups, all nodes, all transactions - and the like. Split them up into left hand navigation items. Also avoid multi-level nested maps on the main screen if you are having issues.

Without any real information about your environment, those are the first steps to take. Hope this helps!
