I'm getting this FIM error "Driver stopped and disabled on startup" from one Windows node? Anyone can suggest a solution on this issue?
Have you tried changing the setting for that node?
Hello, I understand that this is an old post but since this is happening now on one of my nodes, I figured I'd wake it up.
I went ahead and started the driver but after about a minute, the FIM icon turns red again. I appreciate any information.
Thank you!
How stable is your LEM agent connection to appliance? There might be some network issues.
It is totally possible. This is a pc sitting at a different location across town so the probability is high. What makes this hard figure out is that there are other workstations there are reporting just fine. Perhaps a reinstall of the LEM agent would resolve this. Thanks!
I've had this issue with a few agents as well, I've had our network team verify connectivity which always seems fine, I've restarted the agent numerous times...ultimately I reinstall the agent and it's fine. Not very helpful in giving you any clues as to what could be causing the issue....but I wanted you to know that you aren't alone.
I blame Java. Always.
I upgraded from 6.2 to 6.3 a week ago and the only Agent that had issues was my DC (virtual Server 2012 R2). It hung and I ultimately had to attempt shutdown and then had to power it off from VMware to resolve the issue. Today I noticed FIM not running on it and started FIM fine, but then lost ability to use my Explorer folders to it or RDP into it. I'm trying to stop FIM now from LEM console, but its still green. I'm planning to uninstall the LEM Agent completely and update the server (Windows, Java, etc.) and reinstall.
UPDATE: I tried to track down what process pegged the CPU, but task manager never would populate any info. I was able to kill and disable LEM Agent service, but CPU stayed pegged at 100% (memory, network, disk all normal). I next started killing Sophos services on my DC, but that also had no effect. Ultimately I again had to powercycle and the boss said just uninstall LEM on the DC for now. FIM and Sophos have always been fine and are fine on my laptop now. Windows is up-to-date on both my laptop and the server. Both are also running Java 7.45 (a necessary evil for ASDM use). I hope this info helps others!!
