From a the web interface my users are asked to download a ping or traceroute tool. It looks everyone will have to do the download. I am having trouble finding the tools and is there a cost associated with this?
If you want your users to have access to ping/traceroute/remote desktop, they have to be on the same network or at least have access to the devices via local lan or sometime type of VPN if they are not public IP managed devices.
If you dont want them to have these tools, go LOGIN as admin via the web interface and edit each user and slect "NO" for "Allow browser Integration", they shoul dnot be prompted for the download at that time.

If I am viewing Orion from IE 6 and I secect the ping or traceroute icons, I get a pop up that tells me that I have to go to the Solarwinds webe site and install the engineers toolset edition. All our mail and web administrators want to do is to do a ping or rrace route. They don't need to enteire tool set.
