APM Monitors - Periodically going to unknown state

Hey all,

Last week I rebuilt our primary Orion App Server. We upgraded from 8.5.1 to v9 and run APM and NetFlow. Everything is working great except for APM (v1.0 SP4). Every 10-15 minutes I have a group of monitors that will go from an "up" state to an "unknown" state for a minute or so and then will come back up. All of the devices I'm monitoring are on our LAN and use a variety of port and service monitoring setups. APM worked flawlessly on our previous setup, so I'm not quite sure what's going on. There are no errors in the server event logs.

When one of the monitors become "unknown", what's does the "info" box next to the monitor status provide?

See the attached picture.

Typically it's not all of the montiors on a particular server, and I can always see that the server is still alive.

Let me know if that makes any more sense.

In this particular case, is it only those two monitors that go unknown? At the moment it goes unknown, are you able to browse the web site on that machine.

Throughout the day today, I've had random monitors go 'unknown' in 4 or 5 applications. Some of them have repeated, some have not. Some have only been in that state for one minute, the ones in the pic have now been unknown for about 30 minutes. There really doesn't seem to be any pattern behind which monitors blank out and how often they do it. For example, on a different node the SSL port monitor shows offline but the website monitor is green (and I checked to make sure I could access the web page).

Have you tried restarting the APM services?
