I haven't found a better database performance monitoring tool on the market, I"m a big fan and use it everyday.
We currently use Idera and have done an extension comparison, the tools are equal in every functional way that we have compared. The big plus for us is the DPM integration to Orion, and that's why we are evaluating making a change. It always comes down to getting budget approval.

Yes, this product IS good. In fact, Orion is a suite of twenty-nine applications that are good.
I use several of its modules all day, every day, and it works for me all night, every night, tracking changes and alerting me to the status of configurations and connections.
Its reports are useful and beautiful.
I strongly recommend testing it for yourself and seeing if you like it as much as ~30,000 other Thwack members do.
This should also help with your research jay.perry

Yes. I've used a number of GUI performance tools. DPA is straightforward and simple to use. It gives vital information in an intuitive fashion, without requiring you to trudge through layers of navigation. Most of the other tools are a clutter of tabs and garbage screens that are just annoying to look at, and responsible for why I generally dislike GUI tools.
