Engineer's Toolset
Archive Historical Data
cmorris
I am running the Engineer's version, and i would like to be able to archive the historical data from the bandwidth monitor and the network monitor, if i close down the program, i loose all of the historical data, how can i retain and archive this data so i can go back at a later date and see what happend 6 months or something ago.
Also is there any way that if this data goes to the database, can you have it go to a SQL database?
Thanks

cmorris,
Yes.... The Orion version of Network Performance Monitor uses a SQL database and installs as a Windows service. It automatically rolls up the data from detail to hourly, to daily for months or years.
See
solarwinds.net/.../index.htm
This is inherently available in the Orion release, but not as easy in the Engineer's Edition of Network Performance Monitor.
