We have several different storage arrays from different vendors, and dozens of different applications running on them. At any given time Management would like to know how much storage (GB/TB) any or all "applications" are using across all devices in the environment ("What app is using all the storage?" "How much storage is the ABC production application using?").
I created (2) Custom Properties for LUNs called "Application" and "Environment" (i.e. "test", "dev", "prod") and populated them for every Storage Volume using the Export/Import feature of Custom Properties. I would now like to create a report that shows total storage provisioned by Application and Environment.
Has anyone done this? Are there any examples available? Thanks very much.
