Alert when an interface with more than 2 MACs is down

I would like to receive alerts on any uplink port when it goes down.  The descriptions of these interfaces do not contain a similar phase . Rather than updating each interface to include the word uplink, can I query for any interface for more than 2 MACs and if that interface goes down to send an email alert?

I can't think of a way to associate a MAC address to a particular port. I see that MAC addresses are being shoved into the NodeMACAddresses table but that's for an entire node. I think your best bet is going to be an interface custom property called WAN that you can toggle for your few WAN ports.

That being said, if you can tell me how you're able to determine how many MACs an interface is responsible for I may be able to parlay that into an alert definition.
