Orion server sizing

Does anyone have an idea how to size a machine to run Orion? What I'm looking for is some sort of calculation that says I have a box with this much CPU/Disk/Network power and can monitor X number of nodes.

Anyone or is it really just throw as much hardware as you can afford and hope for the best?
