We are interested in monitoring CIFS File Existence, File Change, File/Directory Size, and File Share accessibility, and we are just starting to
get our SolaWinds SAM/NPM environment up and running. From the information that I have found in other discussions and blogs it seems that
SolarWinds SAM can be used to accomplish this type of monitoring, so I have a couple of questions with regard to CIFS monitoring:
1). Can SoalrWinds SAM be used to monitor CIFS File Existence, File Change, File/Directory Size, and File Share accessibility, or do we need to look at Storage Manager for this functionality?
2). We have some customers with CIFS shares that are only accessible via NTLMv2 authentication, does SAM support this type of authentication for connecting to a CIFS share?
Thanks!
