Orion Configuration Manager Will Not Run Scheduled Jobs

I am running Orion Network Configuration Manager v 6.0 SP1 DK500 with User Interface Ver 8.3.125 and Config Mgmt Engine 8 ver 8.3.177 on Microsoft SQL Server 09.00.4035. We "upgraded" a few months ago from Cirrus (which worked fine, thank you very much) and now we can't run scheduled jobs. I am only attempting to download configs and perform inventories, which I can do manually. Can anyone provide me direction on where to start looking?

Right click the job and test. Does the job run and do what is designed.

If yes, Look is on the security tab of the job.

Validate this account is a Local Administrator on the NCM server and is not hindered by being in other AD Groups with lesser rights

If it is good to go, have a look in the Window Task Scheduler.

Look at the history of the job there.

The windows task scheduler is what actually kicks off the job you tested above and requires Administrator rights.

A couple of Local Policies could also be working against you:

Please go to Start>Administrative tools>Local Security Policy>Local Policies>User Rigts Assignment>Log on as a batch job. Make sure the user in the Security tab of the job is added here and make sure the user is not added to teh Deny log on as a batch job.

---- This could be part of a group policy and if so will be break again when the GPO is pushed again.

---- IF this policy is at fault, the job simply will never start. Chaging the passowrd for the user in the security tab will sometimes add the user back but the GPO push will disable it again

Then go to Start>Administrative tools>Local Security Policy>Local Policies>Security Options>Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication

Disable that policy if it is enabled. you will get errors to indicate you do not have rights to modify the job.

Another quick test is to use your credentials you are logged into teh NCM server with in the Security tab of the job then start it.

This should give you a very good starting point.
