Email Alert

I configured Basic alert to send email when a device is down. when i try to check the alert i found below error in logs

There seem to be some issue with VB.

Apr-08 16:38:20.23 : 3600 : The transport failed to connect to the server. Error Number--2147220973

Can any one help me out how to resolve this issue?

can you telnet to port 25 on your email server?

If you have access to the mail server you can also run the following on cmd line:

netstat -an -p tcp and see if 0.0.0.0:25 is listening to verify mail server... also make sure you don't have a firewall somewhere in between Orion and your mail server

Hi,

I have verify that there is not communication issue between orion server & Mail Server.

I think this is related to some VB issue.

I am still not able to configure email alerts

Please help!!

Please include more info. Do other alerts work, or adv alerts, or are no alerts working? What are the action settings? Does your SMTP server require authentication? Is your mail server an SMTP server? More info?
