How To Use Existing Component Statistic Values to Calculate Another Component's Statistic Value

Hi All,

Any suggestions on the simplest approach to take?

One of the way I was thinking to achieve this would be an SQL script and I would appreciate if someone can help to come up with it if that's the easiest option

EXAMPLE:

[APPLICATION MONITOR]

|__ COMPONENT A (value: 100)

|__ COMPONENT B (value: 20)

|__ COMPONENT C (value=A/B: 100/20=5)

Initial Idea

App Monitor 1

Component A = <SQL that gathers the application value A>

Component B = <SQL that gathers the application value B>

App Monitor 2

Component A = <SQL that checks the values in DynamicEvidenceDetail in SolarWinds, divides them, and outputs number>

These can all be SQL Experience monitor. I am guessing the values will be on another application SQL box, so will need two monitors.

That's what I thought as well and was wondering maybe there is more elegant solution. Anyway, I will proceed with this option for now.

Other potential option is if you have the "App Monitor 1" SQL server as a Linked server on the Orion SQL server. Then you can be a bit more elegant, by calling the values from the "App 1" server as a subselect, then perform you caculation as the main select.
