Does anyone knowI if the least version of SAM can be installed in a Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Hyper-V Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2008 R2 OS with no issues?
Thank you,
Elson
We are not currently aware of any issues running SAM under Hyper-V 2012. We've performed limited internal testing thus far but everything appears to be working as it should. Also, no customer issues have been reported through support related to Hyper-V 2012. This configuration is supported should not cause issues.
Yes. Provided the VM Orion is running on is running Windows Server 2008R2 and not Windows 2012. The hypervisor is essentially irrelevant to us. It has more to do with the OS of the VM Orion is running on.
As a side note, while SAM does not as yet support being installed on Windows 2012 just yet, it does support monitoring of Windows 2012 Hyper-V servers.
Hi aLTeReGo, thank you for your reply.
I asked because some applications have some issues related with the hypervisor (it can be VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, etc.) despite the SAM documentation does not specify the version of the hypervisor.
Any idea on when Server 2012 will be supported?
This is something we're currently working on.
