Exclude Device From Start/Run Comparison

Is there a way to exclude an entire a group of devices from the startup/running comparison? I am using the F5 device template, which uses the startup and the running to represent two entirely different files that need to be backed up. So, I'd like to ignore these devices from the comparison.
