Thank you for attending the Don't blame the network! Pinpointing VoIP issues in complex infrastructures webinar where we provided a sneak peak at the SolarWinds Orion VoIP Monitor. We invite you to post your VoIP questions and comments within this thread.
Hello,
We are interested in this particular module. We are running Orion 8.0.2 which release do we need to upgrade to?
Thanks,
Sergio
When will Avaya call managers be supported so that we could use this product to track active VOIP calls...just like you can in Cisco's call manager.
I use an Inter-Tel Voip phone system, will this module work for me?
Shawn
We are using Nortel CS1000 Hybrid switches will the VOIP module work with these PBX's?
Thanks
Jon
VoIP Monitor will work with Orion 8.5, which will release at the same time as VoIP Monitor.
VoIP Monitor version 1 leverages Cisco IP SLA to gather QoS metrics and gathers SNMP data that is specific to CallManager. Do the Avaya call managers store active VoIP call data within SNMP MIBs? If the call data is stored within MIBs, then we should be able to add this support either in the next minor revision or next major revision.
VoIP Monitor is not VoIP infrastructure specific. The Orion module meausures call quality between WAN links or geographic locations using Cisco IP SLA. So, you simply need a Cisco IP SLA capable router at each location.
A couple of things that would help monitor Cisco voip... The ability to monitor Unity and IPCC. These would differentiate your product from the competition.
Can you please elaborate on the type of information you would like to view from Unity and IPCC?
Not familiar with IPCC (we don't have the contact center product center installed). But for Unity there are a number of different parameters that would be useful including:
1. Connector status (Unified Communications mode, with the Exchange message store).
2. Subscriber information (number of subscribers, last accessed date/time, etc.)
3. Call activity information (number of callers, trunk info, duration, etc.)
4. Voice Mail Networking information (AMIS traffic reports, VPIM traffic reports, etc.)
5. Port status (of the voice mail ports).

Thanks Ken,
I'll keep these items tracked as possible Feature Enhancements.
