Adding devices to VNQM

I am currently monitoring over 3000 nodes and 60K interfaces with multiple poller NPM system.

I have VNQM installed only on the primary poller/web server, which is monitoring and polling all my VoIP infrastructure.

When trying to add nodes to to the VNQM infrastructure page, it takes 5 minutes to load the page.

Scrolling through the page is painfully slow, as is when selecting a node, it takes 5 minutes for the page to refresh with the selected node.

Is this 'Normal" behaviour, or do I have to install VNQM on all my APE's to resolve this?

Case # 622620 Created: Adding devices to VNQM submitted.

8 hours to add 50 nodes is not acceptable performance.

I can't even get the system to add my nodes. I wish there was a way to filter this list before the webpage pulls every node/interface

Issue turned out to be IE8 (our corporate standard).

Page loads fine in Firefox and IE10.

I do see the page works better for me in Chrome. IE8 of course is our standard supported browser for our internal users.

I still have my other issues of not being able to add any node because I hit a maximum request limit. It seems like this page pulls every node and interface. Then you check one and it takes that whole table even the unchecked data and submits it back. In my case it's a large table (150k elements). This page also ignored view limitations since it's under the admin group.

We just added our Avaya CM Servers - was a bit touchy - had to remove the node and re add a couple of times when adjusting the SNMP then trying to Add a Call Manager the Node responded well in NPM but not VNQM...

REmove & ReAdd - with snmp v3 - no authentication. Once it was responding to no auth we were able to make the change and add auth and encryption - start and restart on the Avaya server and BAM it was recognized by VNQM and finally began to see the stations to poll for them.

SO - we have enabled a seperate Poller for VNQM to help with the load. I was noticing the same on our Main / Web Server - Paging would hit critical and things would go sluggish until a large table poll completed, or services on the box slumped off on resources... but it still creates too 'hinkey' of an environment to run both your NPM/Web Console and a solid VoIP monitor on.

2nd to that I am having our server folks double the RAM on this additional poller we setup just for the voice streams. 2 Servers - first of which is 12500+ phones. We like to push the limits on what our hardware can do.

Just from this initial setup and poll of a single server, I would recommend setting up a server for your voice - or at least enabling your additional pollers for the VNQM and load balance across all of your pollers.

recreate the data then RDP to the Solarwinds server and check the Orion web logs on C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion

check the bottom part and see what the logs says. Also you can enable hubble from the web.
