How to monitor Windows server CPU and Memory usage?

I have just installed SAM on a new monitoring server, and it has discovered all of my Windows nodes. However when I hover over the nodes in the homepage, they don't show any CPU or RAM usage information. How can I change this?

Go to 'Manage Nodes', and add in the 'Polling Method' column (click at the end of the final column). Check that you're polling your windows hosts via SNMP or WMI. I'm going to guess that they're either all going to be ICMP (ping only) or you have a polling problem.

If you are using SNMP or WMI, check:

If SNMP, confirm that the community string you've specified during discovery is correctly configured on the hosts, and hour hosts are allowing SNMP traffic from your poller(s).
If WMI, confirm that the credentials specified are correct, and that the password for the user account is valid.

I believe jezmarsh‌ is correct. To change the polling method from ICMP to WMI follow the steps outlined below.

1. Click "Manage Nodes" from the "All Nodes" resource on the Home Summary view.

2. Select the node you want to change and click "Edit Properties".

3. Select "Windows Servers: WMI and ICMP" and enter the administrator or equivalent credentials that will be used to monitor this host. When complete click "Submit"

4. Next, select the node again and click "List Resources".

5. Lastly, select the resources you'd like to monitor on this host and click "Submit"
