NTA Percentage Utilization.

When we look at graph in NTA there are last three columns. Ingress Bytes Ingress Packets and Percent (Utilization).

I am seeing two figures in last column for Ex: Percent(Utilization) 31.34%(30.5%).

So can any one tell me the difference between these two numbers.

The number not in the bracket refers to, of the total traffic that matched the filter (say 100GB) you used to create the report, x% was used by that name (app, endpoint, conversation, protocol, etc.) in the first row of the report. The number in bracket refers to how much percent of the total interface utilization was used by that name (again app, end point, conversation, protocol, etc.) in the first row.

Example: A report with a filter for endpoint 192.168.1.1 on Interface1 of your Cisco device is created. The interface total traffic is 200GB and the traffic that matches the filter is 100GB. Out of that, 50GB was using TCP protocol and the rest are other protocols. Say the first row is TCP in the top protocol graph of that report.

The percent number (number not in bracket) is how much of the filtered traffic was used by TCP. Calculated as (50GB/100GB)*100 = 50%.

The utilization number (number in bracket) is how much of the total interface traffic was contributed by TCP. The calculation is (50GB/200GB)*100 = 25%
