Could we have a Test button for Application connections similar to the Test button on SMI-S configuration

I am currently attempting to monitor MS-SQL apps with Storage Manager. I am setting up 20+ instances and I currently set them up and wait for them to fill in. I have the systems set to gather performance poling stats every 5 minutes and Usage polling at 1 hour. Sometimes I am able to gather data and sometimes I only get partial data. I would like to be able to test the connection for password and port connectivity during the initial setup.
