QLogic - HBA Model QLE2562 Monitoring on Ipmonitor

Hi everyone,

I wondering if it is possible to monitor the optical path that goes to a SAN from a DELL server (R710) having onboard a HBA Card Q-logic. Is their any MIB in particular to install and how do i get the OID needed for that??

Our company uses Ipmonitor v10 to monitor the overall system.

Your help would be really appreciated

Hello Atish,

ipMonitor does not have the ability to monitor a network path of any kind. I believe the following products may get you closer to what you are looking for:

-LANsurveyor: This product can map your network, provide information on what is connected where and alert you if any of the connections to the switches change. More on this product is found at http://www.solarwinds.com/products/lansurveyor/info.aspx

-User Device Tracker: This product is designed to gather what is connected to your switches and monitor those connections. More on this product is found at http://www.solarwinds.com/products/user-device-tracker/

-Switch Port Mapper: This product is basically a scaled down version of the User Device Tracker. It is a available as a stand alone product (http://www.kiwisyslog.com/switch-port-mapper-overview/) or as a Tool within the Toolset application (http://www.solarwinds.com/products/toolsets/switch-port-mapper.aspx).

Did you try an SNMP walk of that server to see what the results are?

hello,

I've try, but i had lots of OIDs with no particular description, and its so hard to find out when you don't know if the MIB being use contain the HBA OIDs.

Have you an idéa of which MIB could be installed ??

Its quite Urgent, your help would be really appreciated!
