Availibility report against SNMP value

Hi,

We use MSM-7x series controllers which controls thin APs. I can pull the report on the state of the AP using SNMP but as they are in controlled mode availability stats are not calculated. SNMP shows if the status of the AP is running or disconnected (attached image). Does anyone know of a way to report availability based on the status of the SNMP (running = online, disconnected = offline)?

Hello,

I am a little confused. It looks like you are looking for a way to do what you have posted as an example. Also, what product are you using for this? It looks like NPM but I'm not sure.

Yes, it is NPM. I can pull the values and display on the monitoring page but I want to create a report based on historical status of those values which shows availability of those AP's over week/month etc.

Count me in for confused. I see a report but reverse-engineering it in my head so I can figure out where you made a wrong turn is making my eyes cross. Let's start with a screenshot of the poller configuration (with the 'advanced' tab expanded), and the report definition you're working with now.

Hi,

Apologies to get it confused - let me rephrase it.

We use HP MSM7x controllers and Solarwinds does not natively support the product. I have used universal device pollers to pull the AP status information and it reports running or disconnected status on the NPM page (screenshot attached)

We want to store the AP status in the database and report against that value - so if the AP status = running for the whole week the report would show availability of that AP = 100% for the entire week, and if the status has changed to disconnected for 10% of week it shows availability = 90%.
