The iPMonitor admin guide says that you will need to supply your Solarwinds ID and password in order to make the update work on the Configuration tab.
Where do you supply the ID and password? I don't see anywhere to enter the information.
Hi Freemen,
The Solarwinds ID and password is only required to login to the Solarwinds customer portal (http://support.solarwinds.com/support/default.cfm) in order to download ipMonitor 9.
The ipMonitor Support portal (https://support.ipmonitor.com) username and password is required in order to park your license from ipMonitor 8 and use it for ipMonitor 9.
Having that said, can you tell me what page of the ipMonitor Admin guide you are referring to?
Sincerely,
Chris Foley
On page 48:
Site
The update service is located at updates.ipmonitor.com. This location is hardcoded
and cannot be changed. The site is password protected, requiring
ipMonitor to use your Support ID to log on.
What does this mean?
Hi freemen,
This paragraph is innacurate. The updates page goes to ipmsupport.solarwinds.com and does not require login.
I will notify our technical writing team.
