Help with viewing SNMP Traps

I'm very new to Server and Application Monitor, so I hope this is an easy question. I have the program installed in a Windows domain and I've created a domain user and have have allowed that user to login to my Orion console. I am unable to view any of the SNMP traps from my Windows boxes that are being collected while logged in as that user. Local Orion accounts with the same permissions are able to see them. I do have other domain users that have success seeing the traps and I've mirrored the domain permissions and Orion permissions but still no luck. Are there any settings that I may have missed? it's very frustrating.

Is the traps menu missing altogether, or simply there are no messages visible? A screenshot would be super handy.

Hi Rob,

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. The trap menu is there, the problem is that the user I'm logged in as can't see them. If I log out and go in as another user with the same permissions that user can see the traps.

Does the user who cannot see SNMP traps have an account restriction defined on their account? If so, what is that account restriction?

the accounts have the same Orion permissions, the main difference is the account that can't see the traps is a Windows domain user, and the account that is working is a local account created directly in the application. I created a Windows Group and added that group into console, assigned a role of non admin, then from within AD added my user to that group. Even if I remove that user from the WIndows group that user still can't view the traps. I'm going to be setting up a lot of users and I'd like to be able to manage their access into Orion using that method.

Hi,

I have similar problem with one thing that different. Windows user can see traps, local user cannot. All permissions are the same (at least what I can see).

Tried to reach support with this but no reply at all.

WHen you say 'can't see traps' do you mean the those users don't have the menu bar option to access those pages or that when they go to the trap viewer page there are no traps listed there for those users?
