I was recently given the reins to be the solarwinds administrator after the system had been handled by a couple previous admins through the years. One of my first tasks was to lock down admin privileges to a specific few since previously it was set to allow many individual users. I have deleted individual windows accounts and created a windows group with stricter privileges that these users can now fall under.
However in doing so, I found that some NCM Jobs have stopped working with the error message "Account _____ no longer exist", which I'm guessing is referring to the author account that I had deleted (even though he now is under the allowed windows group). I'm trying to work around it by having my account as the job owner or recreating the previous user's individual account
Is it better to work off (create NCM Jobs) as an Individual Orion type Admin account vs Windows type account? Our previous admin had been using a windows type individual account in making admin changes and creating reports and jobs.
In my attempts to transfer admin responsibilities from the previous admin to myself, I'm now learning it's rippling effect. Has anybody ran into similar caveats inheriting solarwinds from a previous admin? It would help to know what to watch out for, thanks.
