Alerting on devices that are being monitored with SNMP and WMI

Hey Good Morning Thwack Community,

I have a question I was hoping someone can answer.

We are monitoring our SQL Servers with SNMP and also WMI for AppInsight. We are getting 2 alerts for some issues. One for the node being monitored with SNMP and one for WMI.

The nodes show up SNMP fully qualified and WMI is not.

Is there a way that I can tell the alert to only alert on the WMI or SNMP issue?

What I would like is for my team to be alerted when SNMP detects an issue and for the clients to get alerted when something happens to SQL.

In the Devices list the SQL servers show up twice. Once for SNMP and once for WMI. The SNMP one displays the fully qualified name of the device and the WMI one shows only the NetBIOS name.

Are you monitoring the snmp server and wmi for application from the same node in Solarwinds or as two separate nodes pointing to the same server?
