Thwack point balance VS items eligible for redemption

I apologize if this has been answered, I spent 10 minutes looking before I posted this, so its definitely possible I didn't look hard enough.

I have more than enough points to redeem to get item X in the store, but it is telling me I am 953 points shy (I really have something like 1100 more than I need). It's been that way for over a week, I thought maybe the balance didn't get reflected in the store right away, but still no go. Can anyone explain?
