Should this alert (Alert me when a new MAC address appears on network) be triggered if the MAC address is whitelisted?

you are correct. I confirmed with Support.

I am not sure what the value of the "new MAC address" alert is?? I will stick with using the Rogue alert.

New MAC alert is when a MAC Address that is not part of the Historical Data on UDT is detected on the system.
