We receive the same alert several times if the volume is persistent to several ESXi hosts. Is there a way I can set unique volume alerts independent of hosts they're attached to? Many thanks
Bump.
Anyone>???
Without Virtualization Manager, the only option is to monitor the shared datastores on a single host. When you monitor the hosts individually they assign a unique GUID to the datastore that is passed through to Solarwinds via SNMP. So to Solarwinds each datastore is unique, the true clustering doesnt happen at the host level, thats at the vCenter level and you cannot really monitor that without Virtualization Manager. Now I will say, we broke down and got it and its been awesome, I have more visibility into my VM environment than I ever have before.
Thank you, we do have VMAN but how exactly do you get that set up?
