How to find queries during peak hours vs non peak

Hi!

I was wondering if there is a way to look at queries (specifically ones that cause long waits) and compare their times during peak hours to non-peak hours? Every time I try to look at historical charts the charts don't load and I'm not sure if I can separate the times there.

Troy,

Thanks for the question. The historical charts will allow you to see how the query is behaving over time for each day, and what kinds of waits in encountering. It doesn't allow you to drill into a day, but at the bottom is has the typical day, which shows you how much wait time this query has hour by hour.

Is that page not coming up for any query, or just some?

Hi bmrad,

I am unable to see any of the Top waits, Average waits, or typical day with version 11.0.378 for any query. Our situation is just trying to find justification for purchasing a new server and we need some data.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see for your query?

Ahhh, OK so IE11 doesn't display it for some reason but Chrome does. So I guess my next question is if we move the VM to a new server will we still have all this historical data to compare?
