Is it possible to adjust the polling frequency/timeout? I have a few remote systems that are currently up and running but appear down in Solarwinds, I believe the SNMP response is taking a while and causing the systems to appear down.
springsm - give this a lookover: Polling Frequency
Ok nice.. So that gets me to the right place to adjust the SNMP Timeout, but it does adjust the settings for "All." Do you know if there's a way to only change the settings for specific devices? I don't want the change to apply to "All."
Polling timeout values for applications cannot be configured/defined on a node basis. You can however adjust these values uniquely for each assigned application.
Hi aLTeReGo , when polling timeout is > polling frequency, what would happen if the previous query is still getting executed when a new poll starts ?
It's not a hard and fast rule, but I would recommend making the Polling Frequency the same as the Polling Timeout value. At worst the job will remain running through to completion and immediately another job will kick off if the job was running longer than the polling frequency value defined.
