Alert question

hello all

can anybody tell me if it is possible to reduce the amount of time that a node spends in a warning state before going into a down state, the reason i ask is that i have an alert setup to email me when a node goes down,and upon testing it seems to take about 6 minutes for the alert to be triggered after i shut the node down, the reason for this seems to be that the node goes into a warning state where it sits for a good few minutes before going into the down state which triggers the alert. i managed to get the alert to trigger roughly 4 minutes after i shut the node down by reducing the polling interval on the node from 120 seconds to 60 seconds.but am wondering is their anything else i can do??

Check out Admin > Polling Settings and down towards the bottom under the Calculations & Thresholds section, you should see the Node Warning Level setting. As it explains, this setting will Mark devices as down that have not responded for configured time. Keep in mind that this is a global setting so it will accelerate down notifications for all nodes.
