Storage Capacity Forecast

Hi all,

I've got an issue with the capacity forecast.

We have a server that stores high resolution images on a temporary basis for quick access. This disk gradually fills up, and at near capacity the unused images are removed. This currently gives us a downward trend on our disk use, from just over 95% down to 75% over the 3 months of data kept.

What I'd like is for the forecasting to then ignore this sudden space change, and start its forecasting again so we get the correct prediction and alert for 2 weeks to 100% so the system admin can do something.

Does anyone know a way for this to be achieved?

Hello.

When you automatically delete your files then your disk space usage will never reach 100%.

But you could create alerts warning you for example when there is less then 5% free space left or less then 300gb left so your admins can make sure that the automatic file deletion is still working. Here are the stats you can use for your capacity alerts and reports:

Thanks for the info. It's not an automatic deletion unfortunately, we can't take that risk with clinical information.

It's more the projected disk use that's of interest, so we know how many days until the disk is at capacity.
