I just wanted to share a recent experinece and hopefully gain more of an undestanding of jitter.
We were getting some complaints about the quality of some of our links, which we were running voice IPSLA across. I had a look and the UDP Jitter IPSLA and solarwinds displayed it as:

Which looked great, until one of the network engineers pulled up the following graph on the engineers toolkit.

After speaking to solarwinds support it turns out that the only Jitter value that they poll is the Average value, the Min/MAX in the graph is the Min/Max of the average value polled. Which gave us a false indication of the link quality. Since Jitter is both positive and negative the average values looked to be cancelling each other out. Just out of interest, when troubleshooting a VOIP issue what do people use. MAX values or Average values from command line on IPSLA?
