API Editing

Hi All:

I would like to ask where or which directory I can find the API text so that we can edit it. I ask this because currently there is a project that was asked from my team to forward all alerts to a fault system so that a ticket can be produce.

We had open a ticket but the below was the response we got:

Can you share more about what you are trying to accomplish? That would help me point you in the right direction.

Hi Tdanner:

What we are trying to do is to forward the alerts that solarwinds produces to a fault system that our NOC has. In order to make that forwarding happen we need to edit the API so that alerts can show up in the other system while showing in solarwinds at the same time.

That helps, but there are more choices to make. Do you just want a one-way forwarding? You could do that by creating a trigger action on each alert definition that calls a script that generates a fault in your other system. Or you could create a program that runs on a regular schedule and queries Orion for active alerts and then creates the faults in the other system.

Yes one way forwarding is what we are looking into. From Solarwinds to the next system. The two method sounds like what we want to do. From your experience, what would you recommend and also were is this API script located?

Am not to verse in programming but will get some guidance from someone.
