We just upgraded to version 10.2 of Orion NPM, and I'm tuning polling and alerting. Since it all looks just a little different I wanted to set these up correctly. I can't seem to find the answer to this question in the User Guide.

Generally, we recommend advanced alerts because they are more flexible in terms of what they alert on and how they function, but some users have found basic alerts, though limited, to be easier to set up initially.
Generally, you're better off to go with advanced alerts.

There was something else too about node status triggers being real-time in basic alerts and only as often as evaluated (that setting in the first tab at the bottom; default: 1m) in advanced alerts. I haven't confirmed it.
